When it comes to your finances, you can never know too much.

As a community bank, we believe we have a responsibility to help our customers and the public be as savvy as possible when it comes to money matters. As we develop tools or find helpful resources about financial literacy, we will share them here.

Citizens Bank's Financial Literacy Resources

Children's Savings Program

In 2017, we launched our Ca$h Savings Club, a program designed to instill responsible savings habits among our youngest customers. The program sets kids up with tools that promote saving and rewards them for making deposits into their accounts.

Financial Literacy Programming for Schools

  • Real Life 101
In 2023, we launched Real Life 101, a realistic, hands-on personal finance simulation to teach teen students about budgeting, decision-making, and financial basics. Available to high schools and middle schools in our area, Real Life 101 is a complete interactive lesson brought right into the school by Citizens Bank.
  • Customized Presentations
Throughout the school year, Citizens Bank team members visit local schools to give classroom presentations on a wide variety of topics, including financial basics, sales and marketing fundamentals, careers in banking, and more. We are happy to work directly with teachers to create presentations that supplement their lessons.

Educational Seminars

We plan and host several educational seminars throughout the year, many of which are of interest to seniors -- like our annual Medicare enrollment seminar each fall or workshops designed to inform about cybersecurity and staying safe from scams and fraud.

A Mind for Money Podcast

From 2022 to 2024, we hosted our own podcast, A Mind for Money, to demystify banking and finances so everyone has the confidence they need to feel in control of their money.
